Reviews of Non-Alcoholic and Low-Alcohol Drinks from Sipling

Sipling Gin & Tonic

drinkNAB Review

Promised too much

It's good to crack open a non-alcoholic gin and tonic and actually get some decent juniper flooding your senses. However, I'm afraid that's where my praise ends. It's a little flat - similar to the Gordon's version - and the quinine rather overpowers everything else. There's also a  too much sweetness here which surely should have no part of a good G&T.

Sipling Bellini

drinkNAB Review

Cracking bit of fizz

This is cracking. A Bellini is one of the simplest cocktails out there, and Sipling have done a fine job recreating this in non-alcoholic form. A lovely but not too sweet peach aroma and taste, coupled with a good fix makes for a very pleasant experience. I they could banish the lingering sweetness, this would have gotten 5/5.

Sipling Moscow Mule

drinkNAB Review

Very pleasing take on a classic

A very pleasing take on a classic, the fiery ginger ale really does give a very pleasing kick. There isn't too much sweetness and the lime also gives it a nice bite. There isn't much Moscow in there though.

Sipling Old Cuban

Needs more clout

This isn't my favourite of the range - I don't feel the spiced rum has the necessary clout that it should in this. Pleasant enough but a little lacking overall.

Sipling Spiced Rum & Cola

drinkNAB Review

Cola bottles

A pleasing sweet, rum-like aroma from the bottle, I was hoping for more from the taste. Think cola bottle sweets and you'll be pretty close. I do wonder if they've just overdone the sugar here, but some may prefer it this way. Personally, I'd like a lot more rum to come through and perhaps a bit of a kick. As you can get some cracking rum alternatives such as Rumish and Stryyk Not Rum, I'd recommend buying those with some decent cola and make your own.
